Mr. and Mrs. Havard Burleigh, prominent Opelousas couple who were married 50 years ago today, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary yesterday at a reception at their home.
They were married in St. Landry Catholic Church by the late Father A.B. Colliard. Their marriage was blessed at the reception Sunday by Father Lloyd Hebert, pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church.

Decor Is Gold
The decorations at the Burleigh home for the anniversary reception were in gold. There was a large arrangement of gold gladioli in the living room. The serving table was centered with a bouquet of gold chrysanthemums flanked by gold tapers in crystal candelabra. Mrs. Horace Russ presided at the silver coffee service and also served sherry. Mrs. Johnny Dufilho presided at the crystal punch bowl.
The cake table held a three tiered anniversary cake, which was served by Mrs. Lee Delcambre. Gold tapers in gold candleholders were used on the cake table.
