DEATH OF AUGUSTE DUFILHO.
After an illness of comparatively short duration, Mr. Auguste Dufilho, the well-known amateur singer, departed this life last night at his residence, surrounded by a devoted wife, a pair of loving little children and a few intimate friends.
Mr. Dufilho was the son of Mr. Alfred Dufilho, formerly of the firm of Lafitte & Dufilho, and was born In New Orleans. He was only 20 years of age anti was a graduate of the Jesuit’s College, in this city. He was possessed of a magnificent bass voice and gifted with an artistic temperament, and as a singer stood in the front ranks of the amateurs of this city. His voice was frequently heard in concert for the cause of charity, and he was one of the representative male singers who represented Louisiana at the world’s fair.
Several years ago, Mr. Dufilho married Miss Corinne Delvaille, a daughter of Mr. Aristide Delvaille, and their union was blessed with two lovely children. The deceased was whole-souled, jovial and companionable, brave-hearted and true, and his taking off will be the cause of profound regret to a host of friends.
The funeral will take place at 4 o’clock this afternoon from his late residence, No. 99 Kerlerec street.
