Joseph Cleveland Artigue
Port Barre - Funeral services for Joseph Cleveland Artigue, age 77, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the interment to follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
Fr. Nicky Trahan will celebrate the Mass of Christian burial.
Mr. Artigue was born in Port Barre and became a life long resident. He died on Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Opelousas General Health System. He loved spending time with his family. He was extremely friendly to everyone and was full of spirit and life. Mr. Cleveland served his Nation in the Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. He was a very loving and devoted husband, dad, grandpaw, son, brother, brother-In- law, and friend he will be sadly missed by all.
Mourning his death yet cherishing his memories are his wife, Mildred Landry Artigue; daughter, Nona Artigue Schooler and husband, Tim of Lafayette; grandchildren: Rachel Schooler Hebert and husband, Scott; Kristen Schooler Dunbar and husband, Mark; Lacie Hutto Pitre and husband, John Paul; Rusty Hutto and wife, Megan; and Eric Hutto; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Norman Artigue; three sisters: Bertha Stoute, Pearl Robin, and Ruby Wade; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by his daughters: Marguerite Artigue and Romona Artigue Hutto; great grandchildren: Cooper Hebert and Brianna Hutto; his parents, Louis Artigue, Sr. and Agnes Castille Artigue; brother, Louis Artigue, Jr.; sister, Merle Artigue Moreau; and mother-in-law, Marie Landry.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Service.
Rosary service will be conducted 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday Morning in the church.

Port Barre- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Mildred Landry Artigue will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre, LA. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum. Rev. Fr. Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass.
Mrs. Artigue, a native and lifelong resident of Port Barre, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016, at Lafayette General Medical Center at the age of 76. She was loved and adored by all and will be best remembered for her devout faith and her heartfelt love and devotion to her family. She was a wonderful friend to many, but will forever be remembered as “Grandma†as her grandchildren and great grandchildren held her heart.
Mourning her death, yet cherishing her memories are her brother and best friend, Burnell Landry; daughter, Nona Artigue (Tim) Schooler; grandchildren, Rachel Schooler (Scott) Hebert, Kristen Schooler (Mark) Dunbar, Lacie Hutto (John Paul) Pitre, Rusty Hutto and Eric Hutto; twelve great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cleveland Artigue; daughters, Marguerite Artigue and Romona Artigue Hutto; great-grandchildren, Cooper Hebert and Brianna Hutto; parents, Lloyd Landry and Marie Aymond Landry; sisters, Marie Landry Prejean, Bessie Landry Prejean, and Delta Landry Veillon; her brother, Cleveland Landry; and her in-laws, Louis Artigue and Agnes Castille Artigue, Sr.
A Rosary Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Port Barre with the Funeral Mass to immediately follow.
