Breaux Bridge - A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 9, 2007, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Mary Ann ""Mamie"" Rees, 86, who passed away on Monday, March 5, 2007 at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge.
Fr. Allen Breaux will be the celebrant of the memorial service.
Patrick Menard, soloist, will perform ""Amazing Grace"", ""On Eagles Wings"", ""I Can Only Imagine"", ""You Raise Me Up"", and ""Hail Mary"", accompanied by Beth Hebert, organist.
""Mamie,"" as she was known by her family and friends, was a graduate of Breaux Bridge High School and attended S.L.I. (ULL). ?Her father, Adlai Domingues, was the founder and owner of Domingues Motors in Breaux Bridge where she worked as a secretary until her retirement. ?She was a parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. ?Mamie loved her church parish and the community of Breaux Bridge, where she was born and raised; but what she cherished most in life was spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Randy J. Rees, and his wife, Candy of Breaux Bridge; her daughter, Penny Hanson, and her husband, Arvin of Vidor, TX; her sister, Madlyn Lastrapes of Breaux Bridge; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ames Rees; her parents, Adlai and Ellie Hollier Domingues; and her sister, Roma Martin.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
