In 1894, on December 14, I gave the ecclesiastical burial to Odeide Drouet, widow during his lifetime of Edmond Trouard, who died suddenly yesterday morning aged seventy-three years and ten months.

Cover marked 1867-1880. Mentions a May 19, 1869 docket
#173 in the 5th Judicial District Court,
Jefferson. Mentions $100 suit for defamation of character
brought by Abraham Rogers against Emile
Drouet. Suit says Edgard Drouet, Administrator of the
succession of Alexis Drouet and son of Edmond
Drouet, said in court that Rogers wife, Felicie, was a
thief. Felicie had been caught in Drouet's
yard stealing his chickens and Drouet claimed Abraham
Rogers was aiding and abbeding her.
J. B. Drouet and Edmond Drouet were brothers who owned a
sugar plantation for 50 years as partners.
Both deceased. Sugar Plantation on left bank of Bayou
Ouatcha and Dufsont in Grand Isle of
Barataria with an area of 1470 arpents. Plantation a
league and a half on Grand Isle from Bayou Aux
Oias to Bayous LaPoint. The property was to be divided
based on an inventory of 1/23/1873. They
also says sugar plantation on Bayou Ouaicha and Dupont on
the Grand Isle of Barataria having an area
of 140 arpents on Bayou Aux Oies on Bayou Barataria.
Mentions: Francois Tisopherne Boutte, Bayou Perro, Grande
Coulee, Bayou Rigolet (Petit Coteau),
Mssrs. St. Pe, and land purchased from the succession of
John McDonough.
NOTE apparently Edgard and Edward are the same man.
Heirs of J. B. Drouet:
Auguste Drouet of Lafayette Parish; Alexis Drouet of
Orleans Parish; Emelie wife of Alcide Trouard
of Jefferson Parish; Emile Drouet of Jefferson Parish; and
Edward Drouet who sold his share to them
on April 12, 1870.

Charles Dufilho by his mother, Odeide Drouet wife of
Edmond Trouard who donated her share to
Charles. Arsine Drouet wife of Edward Filleul; Noelie
Drouet wife of Eugene Fortier;
Odalie Drouet, widow of Octave Oliver Devezin, an
interdicted person having Andre Devezin as her
under-tutor. NOTE: at marker 000382 is Odalie Drouet's
succession mentioning dockets #341 and 122.
Edgard Drouet, the administrator of the estate and also
tutor of Lelia O. Devezin who was 21 on
11/20/1880. The Drouet brothers purchased some of the
land 10/12/1829 from Francois Rigout and it
was the house of Dominique (something) Pervirox Dervirox.
Some land was purchased 02/19/1845 from
the government. Bayou Oies land was formerly owned by
Victor Coulon and F. T. Boutte. The Drouet
estate sold it to Richard Milliken for $18,000. Estate
was advertized in The New Orleans
Republican, the official journal of the State of
Louisiana, on 12/23/1873 and on January 6, 17, and
31, 1874 and on February 7, 1874.
