Shirley "Gram" Stelly
(January 15, 1936 - January 29, 2012)
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in Melancon Funeral Home in Carencro for Shirley Mae Stelly, age 76, the former Shirley Hollier, who passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 6:25 a.m. at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette.
Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. Carl Cormier, pastor of Victory Worship Center in Scott, will officiate at the service.
Mrs. Stelly was a native of Breaux Bridge and a resident of Carencro for most of her life.
Survivors include one son, Ronald Stelly and his wife, Cindy, of Carencro; three daughters, Arlene Stelly and her husband, Michael, Peggy Stelly and her fiancé, Brian Gannard, all of Lafayette and Donna Touchet and her husband, Chad, of Scott; eight grandchildren, Brandi Foreman and her husband, Wyatt, Aloha Stelly, Hannah Stelly, all of Carencro, Jason Kinney, Michael Stelly, Jr., both of Lafayette, Christina Broussard of Duson, Jonathan Broussard of Scott, and Joy Stelly of Breaux Bridge; and one great grandchild, Levi Foreman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Stelly, Sr.; two sons, Willie Stelly, Jr. and Clarence "Gross Tete" Stelly; one granddaughter, Jennifer Stelly; her parents, Clarence Hollier and the former Jane Stutes; one brother, Norman Hollier; and one sister, Betty Blanchard.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Monday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Michael Stelly, Ronald Stelly, Chad Touchet, Dale Lasalle, Wyatt Foreman, Brian Gannard, and Gary Blanchard. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Broussard and Jason Kinney.
Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, 4615 North University Avenue, (337) 896-6366, is in charge of arrangements.
