    Dorothy "Dot" LeJeune
    January 30, 1947 - August 15, 2021
    Church Point, LA: A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday August 19, 2021 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Dorothy “Dot” LeJeune, 74, the former Dorothy Ann Smith. Mrs. LeJeune, a long-time resident of rural St. Landry Parish, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 15 at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas, LA. Pastor Jamie Tyler will conduct the service and the interment in the St. John Berchmans Cemetery in Cankton, LA.

    She is survived by her son, Charles LeJeune and wife Crystal of Eunice, LA; two brothers, Donald Smith and wife Karleen of Cankton and Danny Smith of Church Point; a sister, Nellie Venable and husband Bernard of Lafayette, LA and three grandchildren: Tyler, Bryan and Noah LeJeune. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald LeJeune; her parents, Elton and Lucy Hollier Smith and two sisters, Belle Bourgeois and Shirley LeJeune.

    The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, August 18 and continue from 8:00 AM Thursday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 6:00 PM Wednesday by Deacon Byrne Winn. A loving wife, mother and grandmother who worked at Fontenot and Guidry Department Store in Church Point for a number of years, Mrs. LeJeune will be missed by all who knew her. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
